We are sad to announce the passing of Br Haneef Badurdeen, ex USMAA Auditor and brother of Saleem Mehrudeen, Haneef (Chota) Mohinudeen and Mohamed (Ungi) Salahudeen in Melbourne on 30 January 2012.

Janaza Prayers will take place at 10:00am tomorrow, 31 January 2012 at the Lysterfield Mosque for burial at the Springvale Cemetery at 10:45 am.

Dear Brothers & Sisters Assalamu Alaikum!

Sheikh Bilal Asaad has been invited to conduct a week-long program in Sri Lanka by a group of brothers in January  (4 - 10), 2012.

A series of programs being planned including the following:

• Jumma Khutba  - 6th Jan, at the Bagatalle Masjid, Marine Drive, Colpetty
• Late evening post Isha Salah public lectures
• Visits to Islamic Schools to address/motivate teachers and students.

Exact program and date/time will be notified in due course when the itinerary is confirmed.

Electronic Media will drive the publicity campaign and YouTube/Facebook/E mails & Text Msg's will be used extensively. WWW.SLMUSLIMS.COM will play the lead role in event publicity IA.

The organizers of the program are seeking financial assistance from USMAA to meet part of the travel costs of Sheikh and his family. As Sheikh Bilal is closely associated with USMAA and have inspired our members particularly, our youths on many occasions we would like to sponsor his Sri Lankan airfare costing around A$ 1,750 with your generous support.  

If you are willing to make a personal contribution towards this Da'wa program, please contact Bro. Fazlun 0424 505 707 or Nazeem  0425 955 544 by 11th December the latest. This is an opportunity for us to demonstrate  our support towards our brethren back home.

May Allah reward you and all those who even intend to support such noble initiatives. A'ameen !

dinner which will be an opportunity for families and friends to gather and share the traditions of Eid-ul-Adha.

It has been announced that the EID-Ul-Adha Haj Festival will be celebrated in Australia on Sunday the 6th November 2011.

Please make a note of following details with regard to Eid Prayers and breakfast.

EID Prayers
The Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was to pray Eid Prayer in an open area.

DATE: 6 November 2011

VENUE:  Recreation Hall or the Grounds, Monash University, Clayton Campus

TIME:   8.00 am (Thakbir) to Pray at 8.30 am  sharp

IMAM:  Sheik Abu Omar

Please take ablution before coming to the venue and arrive early to avoid last minute rush. Don't forget to bring your prayer mats.

There will be a money collection for the Monash University Mosque Building – Please donate generously.

USMAA EID Breakfast

InshaAllah, USMAA will be hosting the traditional EID breakfast for members after the EID Prayers.

Venue: Mulgrave Neighborhood House, 36-42 Mackie Road, Mulgrave.

Assalamu Alaikum Brothers & Sisters, EID Mubarak!

InshaAllah, as planned the EID-Ul-Fitr Dinner will be hosted tomorrow, 3rd September at the Mugrave Community Center. Alhamdulillah, we had an overwhelming response and the tickets were fully sold out. The program for the evening will be as follows:

7:40 PM - Welcome and USMAA Update
7:45 PM - Game: Audience participation
8:15 PM - Vote of thanks
8:30 PM - Dinner

We will keep the formalities as short as possible so that you have more time to catch up with all your friends and relatives.

As we have given priority to USMAA members this time to purchase the tickets, we expect everyone to have settled their membership dues as well. Otherwise, there will be a surcharge on the tickets. We express our gratitude to all the members who have settled their dues already.

  *Time:* 10;00 PM onwards

  *Agenda*
10.00 pm - Salaathu Tharaweeh (8 Rakas) by Br Farook Thowfeek
11.00 pm - Dhikr and (recorded Dhua from Makkah)
12.00 midnight - Lecture, Q&A and English Thauba by Shekh Bilal Asad
2.00 am - Salathul Qiyaam and Witr
3.30am - Tamil Thaubah (to be confirmed)
4.30am - Suhoor meal will be served
5.40am - Fajr Prayers and conclusion

There will be breaks in between for snacks and refreshment.

A plate of snacks/short eats/sweets from members to share with others will be welcome.

We strongly recommend you to bring your prayer mats.

Dear Brothers and Sisters  - Assalamu Alaikum!

The blessed month of Ramadan is fast coming to an end. We are in the last few days before EID. As in the past, this year also we are organizing our Eid-ul-Fitr dinner which will be an occasion for families and friends to exchange greetings and celebrate the festival.  The dinner will be hosted at the Mulgrave Community Centre on the 3rd of September.

Eid dinner tickets are already on sale and due to overwhelming response and limited number of places we are compelled to give priority to USMAA members at this time. The tickets are priced @ Family $50, Adult $15, Child (above 7 years) $10.

To be fair by members, there will be a surcharge on non-members but, we strongly advise everyone to enrol as members and enjoy the benefits. Becoming a member is so easy and it costs only $50 for an annual family membership.

As we won’t be selling tickets at the entrance, you are requested to purchase them in advance. Your last chance to purchase them will be at the 27th Night program at Oakleigh Hall.

We express our gratitude to those members who have already paid their membership and purchased the tickets.

Please contact any of the management committee members to reserve your tickets or for any assistance you may need.

Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation.

Hope you will be happy to be a proud member of the USMAA family.

Saturday 20 August 2011 - 2nd Ifthar at Mulgrave Community Centre.
Friday 26 August - 27th Day of Ramadhan at Doncaster. Location TBA.
Saturday 3 September 2011 - EID Dinner at Mulgrave Community Centre.

EID Dinner tickets will be on sale at the Ifthars. Tickets are priced at : Family $50, Adult $15, Child $10. This year we have only a limited number of tickets and therefore, kindly purchase your tickets early.

Membership Dues: For your convenience, this year USMAA membership dues can be paid by bank transfer. Make sure to mention your name & contact number in the description field. The account details are as below:

We encourage you to use the bank transfer facility. Alternatively, we'll make arrangements to collect the dues during the above events, if you wish to do so.
